Nickname: Baby Feet, DIVA
Birthday: March 25
Favorite Local Triathlon: Alabama Coastal - I like the olympic distance races.
Bucket List Race:
- Kona (I do not think an explanation is really needed)
- 70.3 World Championships
- Boston (I think it would be a really cool experience and not just everyone gets in)
Must-Have Gear:
- Garmin 920 XT - I'm not a gadget person, but this thing has so many training benefits, it's ridiculous.
- TYR Goggles
- Skratch - I have to have this drink mix for the bike. All the flavors are good but the go-to for me is the one with matcha and lemons (delicious warm or cold!)
How I Got Into This: I was introduced to the world of triathlon in 2013 by a very close and good friend of mine. I raced one race that year and maybe 2 the next. 2015 I think was my first "full season" of racing triathlons, and now I just want to be apart of it each and every day.
Favorite Part of a Tri: My favorite part of triathlon would have to be running. I grew up running road races (it was parents' medicine for my ADHD) and running has always had a place no matter my lifestyle at any given time.
Goals: My goals for 2016 & beyond are pretty simple. I most importantly want to make a positive impact on those around me and the sport of triathlon. I want to be someone that is easily approachable for advice or help to anyone who wants to better themself at any of the disciplines. I am also very competitive, so I am always pushing myself to better my personal times and set new goals (some goals can get a little ridiculous, but that's the fun of having goals).
Nutrition Advice: My go-to drink is Skratch's green tea w/ matcha and lemons, post training or race, it's usually water (I know, pretty lame).
Day Job: Student.
Why GCCT Rocks: My favorite thing about GCCT would be the customer service and willingness of the employees to help you no matter what it is that you need. My favorite thing about being on the GCCT tri team would be the chance to interact, learn, and discuss things w/ people who have more experience than me at this sport. I'm still pretty new, I do not think I have even broken the 20 triathlon mark yet (I know, silly rookie).
2016 Race Schedule:
- 4/17 - New Orleans 70.3
- 6/4 - Grandman
- 7/9 - Muncie 70.3
- 7/23 - Heart of Dixie
- Oct 1 - Santa Rosa Island Tri
- Other local races - if I'm not racing I'll probably still be there cheering on my teammates and the other participants (I just enjoy the sport that much!)
- 5th AG & Qualifier for Ironman 70.3 World Championships - New Orleans 70.3, 2016
